带宽达到极限

　　由于人类大脑所能接收的信息量、人类眼睛所须要的视频分辨率的上限，高速互联网入户带宽将达到极限。当我们能通过互联网流畅收看超高清电影时，入户带宽将停止发展。

程序运行不受地点限制

　　从前，人们玩的游戏无一不运行在本地个人计算机上，搜索引擎总得靠自家公司的服务器完成搜索。带宽和互联网技术的限制使程序运行局限于本地。

　　以后，个人计算机也会承担服务器的各种运算：服务器将任务发给个人计算机，个人计算机得到结果后再给服务器反馈。服务器运营商可以将多余的运算能力卖给千里之外的客户。信息的传输成本已经微不足道，全世界的计算机都可以并肩合作！

　　金融业不会创造财富，科技和制造才是发展的关键。

 “你这样做是不是有点儿太过分了？”明明是人家做得太过分了，但我们常常加上“有点儿”给别人留点儿面子。就连直率的美国人也常常有意犯”a little bit too”的错误。

我们的“博客”虽源自英语，却可比冷冰冰的blog深奥很多。这“博”字特别有味道：让人感觉学识渊博、内容广泛、认识深入。外来词经过打磨之后，我们的文化还是比美国人高上一筹！

   People make oral mistakes all the time. “That's a little bit too much...” You can tell that it's seriously in excess, but the speaker do not want you to feel guilty. Sometimes, mistakes become slangs. “Doing good?” A few of them eventually make their way into the dictionary. “Long time no see!” is a perfect Chinese-English mistake that became standard English.

   Sometimes, I feel like putting some more Chinese into English. “You good?” corresponds to “Ni Hao!” “Hello!” sounds pretty corny to me.

愿所有有情人终成眷属

 

Christian thinking has always been based on “Free Will”. They argue that all men could have done right on anything; all that matters is choice i.e. “Free Will of choice”. Good people make right choices; evil people make wrong ones. In the end, on the judgment day, the good ascend to heaven; the bad are to be locked up in hell. However, has anyone doubted whether all men are allowed to choose?

Suppose a boy was heavily bullied by his classmates; until one day, when those people prepared to hit him again, he opened fire on them with his father's handgun. Was it that his conscious mind made that deadly decision? It appeared to be, but there are a lot more to it. In a physiological perspective, whenever he is about to get bullied, his blood epinephrine rises, hence triggers a “fight-or-flight” response. This is a primitive response that enables animals to make quick decisions in dangerous situations: fight or run? Since running was not a good idea as proven, he would pull out the gun; that's the mechanism. But why would he bring the gun to school? Perhaps, due to all years bullying, he had been suffering from manic depression; he imagined those people as Lucifers that need to be gunned down . Perhaps, his father encourages him to fight for his dignity. Or, maybe, his father is an excellent policeman who shoots criminals; he wants to copy his father so much!

The other huge factor is genetics. Some people are genetically violent; some are born to be retaliatory. Those genetically violent would statistically hit more people among normal people at his age living in his neighborhood. They cannot choose not to, because his inheritance programmed him to be violent.

In short, police detectives would tell you all the external forces that drove the boy to homicide, yet not “maybe he made the wrong decision at that time”. Social impacts, genetics, and maybe some others could all affect people's behavior. Choice may be one of them, or may be none of them.

   With a world facing economic depression, interest rates laying low; stock markets in misery; mainstream investment market is in woe. However, Private Equity funds gather more money than ever, becoming a remarkable force in the capital market. Enough cash to create an economic storm like the one of the 1998 Tailand.

   Therefore, some of them started buying out other companies. Refurbish them; gift-wrap them. Let them appear to be a bit better. Once their stock prices rises to a certain level of satisfaction. Those private Equities re-sell them. There seem to be nothing wrong with it; it's the same as buying a laptop then selling it as a second-hand. But the truth is that they destroys well-operating companies! Private Equities do not provide their “product's” employees with health care or other welfares; they do not donate to charity; they do not take social responsibilities! They don't even try to develop their acquired companies, as a result of their stingy wallet. All they do is to squeeze some quick money out of the companies.

   They are nightmares for world's companies; malicious tumors of the market. Governments will have to stop them sooner or later.

面包－西餐的精髓

　　“感谢上帝赐予我们生命，和桌上的面包。。”

　　我们的主食是米饭，西方的主食则是面包。就如他们饭前所祈祷的一样：面包就是他们的生命。也许现在他们不再如此依赖面包，也许面包已经成为我们每天的早餐，但面包和米饭相比有何特点呢？

　　米饭和面包都是淀粉型食品，淀粉分解后就成了糖，糖就是身体所需的能量。米饭的淀粉含量远胜于面包，是绝佳的能量源，是咱们勤劳中国人的无穷能量；面包的纤维含量却远胜几乎没有纤维的细粮米饭，纤维利于消化、饱腹，但不含能量。

　　如今咱们的勤苦民工们还是保有着咱们的传统，他们的饭量可以以斤计算；我们的城市才保持了高速建设的步伐。可是，像你我一样天天在计算机前工作的人们不再需要高能量，而且肚子里的垃圾也急需清理。牛奶或果汁配上面包和果酱，也可省下中午的宝贵时间。

人们为什么需要闲聊

　　平时没事碰见邻居或同事，人们习惯聊聊父母、孩子和工作等家长。若哪位朋友在国外生活，也会有同感。

　　仔细想想：我们碰见这些许人还能说什么？若不扯家长，我们互相是不只能不理不采？

　　闲聊可谓是人与人间脆弱感情的最后防线，或是社会的冷漠红线。

Most friends are hardly friends

“How are you today?” “How are you doing?” “What's up?” People are not even looking for proper answers; thus, why worry greeting people all the time?

Perhaps, because you meet too often; you got nothing to say to them anymore. Or, you do not like the person, but work brings you together. You would have to maintain a hypocritical friendship with the person. Small talk helps keep those weak bonds between people; in other words, most friends are barely friends.

东北大汉的笑

记得一年前，我和我姐结伴从北京乘火车去长春，搭乘的是硬卧特快。咱们俩手脚慢，上车晚，上车时所有乘客都早已坐定。

我们俩是下铺，中铺的两个东北哥们儿正坐在那儿聊天，但又目不转睛地注视着什么。我们把行李放上行李架，喝了口水。等我们坐下，那俩哥们儿朝我姐一笑，互相看了看——那是全世界“最奸邪”的一笑。。。马上又恢复了那憨厚的笑容，问我：“回长春啊？”我用纯正的东北腔回答道：“对，放寒假！”我乐了，原来他们一直在盯着我身边的大美女！姐低着头，脸颊泛出一丝红晕。

“你们都是北京的大学生啊！”
